After a thorough background check and verification, Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officers dismantled a fake Business Affairs Commission (CAC) Center at Jobi Fele Way, Alausa Business District, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
Five suspects running the center were also arrested for forgery and impersonation of CAC officials.
Benjamin Hundeyin, police public relations officer for the command, said those arrested were 28-year-old Gloria Ukaegbu, 30-year-old Omolere Kayode, 34-year-old Taiwo Ajayii, 27-year-old Nwachukwu Brenda and Oluwatomisin Adebisi, 25 years old.
Led by RRS Commander, Olayinka Egbeyemi, Chief Superintendent of Police, the officers recovered several forged CAC documents, a Toyota Sienna and a Toyota Matrix used as makeshift desks for their nefarious dealings.
According to him, a preliminary investigation revealed that the union defrauded hundreds of people through false CAC registrations.
Meanwhile, Lagos State Police Commissioner Abiodun Alabi has ordered that the matter be transferred to the state’s Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
