This is the first study to assess both dynamic thiol disulfide homeostasis and ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) levels in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Twenty-nine CLL patients and 20 controls were included in the study. The dynamic thiol-disulfide equilibrium was determined by the colorimetric method newly developed by Erel. IMA levels were determined by the cobalt binding assay. We found that total antioxidant status levels were lower, while total oxidative status (TOS) and oxidative stress index (OSI) levels were significantly higher in CLL patients than in controls.
